1. What cookies and similar techniques are

Cookies are small text files that we, or parties we work with, place on your device when you visit our Platforms. Similar techniques include pixels, local storage (localStorage) and scripts that read or place data in a comparable way. In this policy we use the collective term “cookies” for all these techniques.

Cookies can be distinguished in several ways.

DistinctionExplanation
First-party or third-partyFirst-party cookies we place ourselves under the domain of the Platform. Third-party cookies are placed by another party, for example Google.
Session or persistentSession cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them manually.
PurposeFunctional (necessary for operation), analytical (statistics) or marketing (advertising and conversion measurement).

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies to:

  • make our Platforms work properly (such as logging in, language choice and shopping cart);
  • measure visits to our Platforms and improve their operation;
  • remember the cookie banner and your cookie choice;
  • measure the effectiveness of our Google Ads advertisements through conversion tracking.

We do not use cookies to build profiles or to track you across other websites beyond the purposes mentioned above.

3. Which categories of cookies we use

We distinguish three categories of cookies. Under each category there are examples of cookies that we or our partners place. A complete and always-current overview per Platform is available in the cookie statement that Cookiebot displays on every page; that statement also shows which cookies are actually placed at any given moment.

3.1 Functional cookies

Functional cookies are necessary to operate our Platforms or to deliver a service that you have expressly requested. No consent is required for these, as permitted under article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act.

3.2 Analytical cookies

We use analytical cookies to track how many people visit our Platforms, which pages are popular and how we can improve our sites. We use Google Analytics 4 and have configured it so that IP addresses are shortened and so that we do not share data with Google for other purposes. These cookies are only placed after you have given consent through our cookie banner.

3.3 Marketing cookies

4. Cookies from third parties

A number of cookies are placed by third parties, who in that case are independently or jointly responsible for the processing of your data. The main third parties are:

  • Google (Google Ireland Limited and affiliated companies), for Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. For transfer of personal data to the United States we refer you to section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
  • Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S), for displaying the cookie banner and managing your cookie consent.
  • Mollie B.V., only during a payment on eventinfo.pro or rouwkaarten.online; Mollie may place temporary cookies at that moment in order to process the payment securely.

We choose these parties carefully and enter into a data processing agreement or comparable appropriate arrangements with each of them. For the use of your data by these parties outside our Platforms, their own terms and privacy statements apply.

5. Your consent and how to manage it

On your first visit to a Platform you will see a cookie banner. This banner is managed by Cookiebot. In it you can:

  • accept all cookies;
  • accept only functional cookies;
  • choose per category which cookies you accept.

You may change or withdraw your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link or a similar button at the bottom of every page on the Platform. If you withdraw your consent, we will from that moment no longer place cookies for which your consent is required. Cookies that are already on your device will remain there until they expire or until you delete them manually. Section 6 explains how to do that.

Withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing prior to withdrawal.

6. Disabling or deleting cookies in your browser

You can always disable, restrict or delete cookies in your browser. How to do so differs per browser; consult your browser’s help menu or one of the links below.

Please bear in mind that our Platforms may work less well, or not at all, if you block functional cookies.

7. Cookies and privacy

Some cookies contain or process personal data, such as a unique identifying number or your IP address. The processing of this personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. That policy explains, among other things, what your rights are (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability), how to exercise them and how to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may amend this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we start using new cookies, replace a partner or when legislation changes. The current version is always available on our Platforms, stating the version and the date of entry into force. For material changes we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
